Fantasy Baseball Complaint Department

by Howard on July 9, 2009

OK folks.  Time again to vent that frustration.  Get it all out now.  We’ve got through the weekend to finish out the first half of the season, but some things you just can’t contain.  I felt pretty good after last week’s release (if you haven’t seen it yet, click here for last week’s Complaint Department or here for my First Half All-Bust Team on AFS) and with everything that’s happened this week, I’m hoping for a similar effect.  We’ve got plenty here from demotions to injuries to stupid managerial decisions to rival fantasy GMs making stupid comments, so get yourself fired up and let’s get going…

Come on there, Brad Lidge.  What the hell is going on with you?  Was last season that much of a fluke?  Are you a total head case right now?  I’m at work with the Phils/Reds game on one of the TVs and as I turn around to check the final, you’re out there giving up hits and runs.  He was a great buy low candidate for about 3 days this season and now those of us that fell for it are suffering.

Another killer buy low candidate was Vladimir Guerrero and now he’s got a muscle strain behind the knee???  I picked him up in my primary league just prior to interleague and he teased me with a few hits and then 2 moon shots.  Now I’m lucky to see him finish out the week.

Hanley’s hip — ’nuff said.

The GM who is right behind me in my primary league also happens to be one of my bosses.  Each night when we both work he comes downstairs from his office, multiple times,  to tell me that my team is currently hitting .115 and he’s about to take a point from me in batting average.  He’s also good for injury reports on only my players, when a guy goes 0-4, and each and every earned run.

Like I said last week….I protected Chris Davis.

The smack talk of an 11 year old.  My nephew started a league with his friends and family that Uncle Howard was happy to join until I lost to his best friend this past week and am currently losing my matchup this week to another of the kids.

Not having any pitching going for 2 days and watching yourself lose points in all the pitching categories.  More just frustrating because of rival GMs like the one mentioned above.

And finally, I understand the risks involved in owning Chipper Jones.  Stop reminding me!!!

I’m sure I’ll have a few more to add over the next few days so keep an eye out…

Feel free to chime in…you have my sympathies.
