With 3 major fantasy drafts coming up this weekend for me, I’ve been doing a lot of studying of ADP (average draft position) numbers. I find that using these numbers, compiled from numerous drafts, can be very helpful as you make your way through the middle rounds picking up guys, but not reaching too far. You get a good feel for how the rest of the world views them and how long you can wait on some of your fantasy baseball sleepers and other hidden gems.
But one of the things I’ve found as I’ve been scouring through, is that Juan Pierre is getting no respect in drafts this year. None. And it boggles my mind. If there’s one thing that you should take away from the facts you’ve learned today, it’s that forgetting about Pierre is a big mistake. I know that stolen bases are becoming more and more plentiful, but why lose out on 50+ SBs and a .290+ average with a middle round pick? You can use his production as a way to build up on power in other areas. Seriously. I don’t get it.
So today I’m going to give you two tools that you should check out before your draft. The first is a link to a spectacularly compiled ADP list found on Fantasy Gameday and the second is the Player Profile I did on Pierre for SouthSideSwingers.com. Use them well and, I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.
Good luck and I’ll see you all in the money this year!
